Ric Ocasek, lead singer of The Cars, found dead in New York

(CNN)Ric Ocasek, lead singer of the rock band The Cars, died Sunday in New York City, police said.
The New York Police Department received a call around 4 p.m. "for an unconscious male" at a townhouse on East 19th Street, the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Public Information told CNN.
Ocasek, whose identity was confirmed by police, was pronounced dead at the scene. 
He was 75, according to news reports.

    Tropical Storm Humberto threatens Bahama islands ravaged by Dorian

    Barely two weeks after Hurricane Dorian wreaked havoc on the Bahamas, a new tropical storm is threatening to move "near or over" the chain's northwestern islands on Saturday, with gale force winds and heavy rainfall to follow.
    By early Saturday, Tropical Storm Humberto’s center was 70 miles east of Great Abaco Island, according to the National Hurricane Center. Great Abaco was the hardest hit by Hurricane Dorian, with “more than three-quarters of all buildings (having) been destroyed,” U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said.

    Drone strikes knock out half of Saudi oil capacity, 5 million barrels a day


    Abu Dhabi (CNN Business)Drone strikes on crucial Saudi Arabian oil facilities have disrupted about half of the kingdom's oil capacity, or 5% of the daily global oil supply, people with knowledge of Saudi's oil operations told CNN Business.
    Yemen's Houthi rebels on Saturday took responsibility for the attacks, saying 10 drones targeted state-owned Saudi Aramco oil facilities in Abqaiq and Khurais, according to the Houthi-run Al-Masirah news agency.
    Five million barrels per day of crude production have been impacted after fires raged at the sites, one of them the world's largest oil production facility, people with knowledge of the kingdom's operations said. The latest OPEC figures from August 2019 put the total Saudi production at 9.8 million barrels per day.

    Ex-NFL defensive back Terrell Roberts killed in California shooting: reports

    Former NFL defensive back Terrell Roberts was shot and killed at his grandmother’s home in Northern California on Wednesday night, according to multiple reports.
    Roberts, who played cornerback with the Cincinnati Bengals from 2003 to 2004, was at his grandmother’s home in Richmond when someone entered the backyard and shot him. Richmond is about 20 miles north of San Francisco.
    Roberts’ family told CBS San Francisco that he had a “heart of gold.” They also said they didn’t’ believe he was “mixed up in anything bad.”
    No arrests were made in the fatal shooting and police have not named a suspect.
    Roberts, 38, played three seasons at Oregon State. He signed with the Bengals as a free agent in 2003.

    'Hustlers' works overtime, as strippers turn to crime

At its core, though, is a solid caper movie rooted in the challenges associated with running any criminal enterprise -- a more modest version of "Goodfellas," with less blood, and more skin.
    Jennifer Lopez is among the producers of the film, which counts a number of high-profile entertainers -- including hip-hop stars Cardi B and Lizzo -- in its cast. Foremost, though, "Hustlers" is a showcase for Constance Wu, the star of "Crazy Rich Asians," who serves as the narrator/guide to this seedy world, in which the 2008 financial crash provides the impetus for a criminal scheme with Robin Hood-esque overtones.
    Based on a true story chronicled in New York magazine, "Hustlers" focuses on a group of exotic dancers in New York who began drugging their customers, running up vast tabs on the men's credit cards that their marks were too embarrassed to pursue. Of course, the fact we're watching a movie means they didn't entirely get away with it, but it's still fascinating to see how they sustained the plot.
