Vermont covid 19 numbers/Pfizer Covid 19 vaccine/safety

As of Saturday, August 1, 2020, Vermonters and visitors are required to wear masks or cloth facial coverings over their nose and mouth any time they are in public spaces, indoors or outdoors, where they come in contact with others from outside their households, especially in congregate settings, and where it is not ...

83.3% recovery rate... a flawed PCR test...only 208 deaths..1.3% of cases dead

NOW NOT THE TIME TO DROP STATE HEALTH PRECAUTIONS

Vt. Health Commissioner Dr. Mark Levine criticized states, like Texas, that have dropped mask mandates. He said the country is very close to beating the virus but that there is still a very real chance we could “fumble the ball” in the coming weeks by not remaining vigilant. Levine also noted a decline in people seeking testing in Vermont. He said there is still widespread testing availability, including pop-up testing in Stowe this weekend to monitor growth in COVID cases there.

As of Friday, Vermont health officials reported 126 new coronavirus cases for a total of 15,819. There have been a total of 207 deaths. The state’s percent positive seven-day average is 1.6%. A total of 334,096 people have been tested, and 13,145 have recovered.

Burlington, Vt. – Governor Phil Scott today announced the arrival in Vermont of the first 1,950 doses of the Pfizer/BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine. This is the first portion of the 5,850 doses coming to Vermont this week. The State Vaccine Depot and the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington each received 975 doses at approximately 8:00 a.m. today. The doses were sent as part of the initial nationwide shipments that followed the Emergency Use Authorization for the Pfizer/biotech vaccine issued by the FDA(link is external) on December 12.

“This is an important milestone and an essential step toward defeating a virus that’s devastated families and businesses throughout Vermont and around the globe,” said Governor Scott. “There is no better, safer or faster way to defeat this virus and work to rebuild our economy than a successful effort to make vaccines available to every single Vermonter. We are committed to working with our partners to get this done, so we can get through this and be stronger and more resilient than ever before.”

CDC and FDA physicians review each case report of death as soon as notified and CDC requests medical records to further assess reports. A review of available clinical information including death certificates, autopsy, and medical records revealed no evidence that vaccination contributed to patient deaths. CDC and FDA will continue to investigate reports of adverse events, including deaths, reported to VAERS.
